I rode past there too but by then the rider was gone, the bike was still in the ditch and the car was heading onto the tow truck. It was weird that neither the car nor the bike were right at the intersection. They were both west of it. The car had a dent in the passenger front fender and the passenger mirror was smashed. Did the car maybe U-turn in front of the bike?

Wife said she saw someone and their bike flying through the air on Terry Fox and land on the grass.

She didnt see the reason but rider got up shaking fists at a vehicle that didnt stop.

They both had just made left turn off Kanata Ave onto Tery Fox South,

She doesnt know much about bikes  :evil6: it was a big bike and the rider had a nice suit on (leather) /shrug

Saw a maroon bike (goldwing?) down on hwy29 maybe 5km outside arnprioraround 3:30pm  today.  Bike was through the ditch and hung up in a farmers fence, while rider was laying on his stomach on the shoulder of the road.  Police were on the scene along with a few other cars.  Looks like he was heading towards Carleton Place.

The police had the intersection of Parkdale and Scott shut down this morning on my walk into work. I went by at a distance, so I didn't see too much. Looked long enough to see a bike (pretty sure it was a cruiser) layed down flat on its side in the center of the intersection. There's an ambulance on scene.

They were redirecting traffic a block away, so it didn't look too encouraging.

Rider was Mario Lague.  Michael Ignatieff's director of communications.

Going to add myself to the list.   I went down on the duc after hitting lose gravel in a corner.
Bike ok.   Me broken collar bone and very sore rib cage.

Would have been fine sliding along until my shoulder dug in.

I do not give advice.  I only pass on information.  The same information would be available if you were to ask m on the street.  The opinions are mine alone and not those of my employer.

Saw a rider down yesterday around 11:00 at the corner of mcneeley and lake street  (about 2km from the tims meetings place along hwy7).  Was an older guy (60's?) on a cruiser with crash bars.  Bike looks mostly undamaged, he was laying on the ground in the middle of the intersection moving his arms and legs but did not get up.  Emergency crew arrived and immediately put a neck brace on him (which is standard procedure I think?).

2nd rider down I've seen with my wife in the last 2 weeks (who is very nervous about me riding)  :(

I hope the meat wasn't to spoiled, the only good use for deer is venison.

Saw on the 11:00 news accident between bike and car on Fisher this afternoon. The car had most of the passenger side severely pushed in. The bike was so smashed up I couldn't make out what it was. News said the biker was in critical condition when the paramedics arrived with head and chest injuries. Hope the driver makes full recovery.

My heart goes out to Dr. Chow and to the trauma team at the Civic hospital that has to care for one of their own.  A tragedy.

Updated story from Ottawa Sun....

The team doctor for the Ottawa Senators is fighting for his life Sunday night after a two-vehicle collision on Fisher Ave. Saturday afternoon.

Dr. Donald Chow, 53, is in intensive care at the Ottawa Hospital in a coma, sources tell the Sun.

Family is at his side. His injuries are massive head and chest injuries, hospital officials say.

Dr. Chow is an orthopaedic surgeon in Ottawa.

The Senators released a statement early Sunday evening.

"The Ottawa Senators team doctor, Don Chow, was involved in a traffic accident late Saturday afternoon. The entire Senators family wishes Dr. Chow a full recovery and our thoughts and support are with him and his family. All medical updates on Dr. Chow’s status will be provided from his family through the Ottawa Hospital."

The team added there would be no further comment from them.

Dr. Chow's motorcycle collided with a car driven by an elderly woman at Kintyre Pt. at about 3 p.m.

Paramedics found him lying unconscious on the ground. He had severe head injuries.

The woman was treated for small cuts sustained when her car window shattered. Her car suffered serious damage to one side and came to a stop on a lawn at one corner of the intersection.

The bike lay in the middle of Fisher Ave.

Paramedics provided an especially speedy response -- only 13 minutes elapsed from the time they received the call, to when the victim arrived at hospital.

Police have not said if charges will be laid.

Went in to see him today, but his family was there and I didn't want to intrude on their private time.  I was working as the Chief Medical Officer at Mosport yesterday and we were joking about working with him at the track Saturday afternoon not knowing that he had been involved in an accident that same day.  Got a text from a colleague at the hospital just after I arrived back in Ottawa last night.  I was completely dumbfounded.

It is hard when it hits close to home, but if it had to happen he is in the right place with the right people looking after him.
