Val-des-Bois
« on: September 13, 2010, 11:45:51 AM »
Took a ride up the 309 from the Cumberland/Masson-Angers ferry, cross the river at Val Des Bois, then back down the 307, cutting across to Wakefield, and down the 105 to Ottawa.  Nice ride with twisty roads (309 especially).

However: the bridge at Val-des-Bois is one of those metal grates - first time across one since I started riding this year - did not care for it.  Also, the intersection on the other side is up a steep incline, with blind road in both directions.  Other than that (and the jerk in the Jeep in Wakefield that doesnt understand stop signs) it was a great ride.

I was trying to post a pic from Saturday, but can't figure it out.

You have to use Photobucket or similar hosting sites for pics. And you must've got the numbers wrong, 307 is much nicer than 309  :icon_biggrin:

Don't cross the border with the bike at Ogdensburg then.  :icon_biggrin:

You're right - I did get them mixed up - the 307 is the twistier.

metal bridges are fine.  It's those wood ones you have to worry about..  slippery as hell
If it does not fit in a tank bag you do not need it

Hey furnitureguy, if that's a silver 2009 Start 950T, I just got the exact same bike a few weeks ago. Picked it up in Lachute. First time ever on a cruiser for me. I'm from the east end as well.
