county road 36 - gravel
« on: September 17, 2017, 04:58:22 PM »
Under construction starting a few km north of Westport - loose, deep, and wet gravel. Nearly dropped the bike a few times and turned around after a km or two, so don't know how far the constructions extends to. Beware

I was down that way a couple of weeks ago and it was pretty nasty then.  It begins around Crow Lake rd and continues for about 7km towards Wesport.

Sounds like things haven't improved much.

I looked online - it appears to start 6km north of Westport and go all the way until it crosses into Lanark county (yes, that is around Crow Lake Rd). Nasty is the right word, will have to wash the bike tomorrow :(

Yep I hit it last Wednesday.  I actually had to clean the VFR when I got home, which is something I never do.  The loose gravel was fun though, I practiced my rear wheel throttle steering and rock chucking!  :hello2:

I have no idea what throttle steering and rock chucking are, I am still working on keeping the bike from falling over on it's side using conventional techniques, but I will have to clean the bike today

It's been a week ... anybody have an update on the condition of this stretch of 36?
