Ride Days 2017?
« on: March 25, 2017, 05:48:13 AM »
Sitting here looking out my window at all the snow that fell yesterday is making me crazy, so I'm thinking up all the rides I want to do this spring and summer.  Also, all the bikes I want to "audition."  I've looked up a few of the demo ride days, but I'm not having much luck.  So far all I could find in the area was:

May -

Suzuki - May 13th at  MOTOR SPORTS WORLD
Suzuki - May 18th at WHEELSPORT
Honda Come Ride With Us - May 24th at Powersports.
Yamaha Powertour - May 25th at Powersports
Yamaha Powertour - May 25th at Moto Gatineau
Yamaha Powertour - May 26th at Irwin Supply (Cornwall)

June -

Honda Come Ride With Us - June 17th at Kanata Honda.
Yamaha Powertour - June 24th at Wheelsport

July -

Harley Davidson Test Our Metal - Jul 30th and

Sep

Harley Davidson Test Our Metal  - Sep 1st in Hawkesbury and Sep 3rd at Freedom HD

Does anybody have a line on any of the other demo days this year?

Added to the first post.  I'll try to keep it updated as new dates are known.  If anyone knows of any, post them and I'll update based on the best info we have.

I only made it out to one last year (an HD event) because they were the only ones I found any advertising for until it was too late.  I'm trying to get a jump on it this year.

Goodtimes Centre does the BMW demo rides. I haven't been for a few years. Im not sure if they're still doing them.

As well, in the past you usually need to call ahead and book the specific model you are interested in riding to guarantee seat time.  Otherwise you are left waiting and may not get a chance to ride the bike you wanted.

If you are interested in test riding a B'mer ask the staff at Good Times and they will notify you of upcoming events and will book you for a desired bike.

Last time I did a BMW demo day, it was a pretty long ride. But, they also charged $40/ride.

I'm going to be on the East side of the city tomorrow morning, so I think I'll drop in to Wheelsport on my way back to work.  So far it looks like the rain isn't expected until the afternoon.  Hope to see a few people out if the weather holds.

I got a chance to ride the SCR950 (meh) and the XSR900 (oh yeah!) at the Yamaha ride day at Wheelsport on the 24th.  I would say that the XSR is now the new object of my motorcycle lust. LOL  But I'm more likely to go with the V-Strom 650 that I rode the day they had the Suzukis over there.  It's no slouch either, and it's so damned versatile.
