Ott-Motorcycles.ca moving to a New Server
« on: August 22, 2011, 02:22:18 PM »
as promissed, I have aquired a new server in order to better support this and other sites I host as well as to add Hosting Services to anyone looking for this service.

I plan on moving the website sometime tonight.

When I start, i will be putting the site into maintenance mode so that no one posts any messages. I will then move the Database, then move all the files related to the site.

There should not be any issues as I have already moved several of my sites including Gat-Motosport.ca and everything is working correctly.

When you wake up tomorow morning, everything should be goo to go.

Anyone looking for website hosting, please let me know.

The Post times seem to be off today. I just posted and it said 1:49 a.m.  And it's 10:00 a.m. here in Ontario.

It's on the list of things to fix.  PMs weren't working but is now resolved.

Not sure if this is on "the list" but in case it's not, when entering a message in Firefox 3.5 the page is crazy-wide as though there's a non-wrappable or non-resizeable element on the page.  See attachment.

To fix - click on PROFILE at top of page, once logged in
         - click on LOOK AND LAYOUT at left of page
         - scroll down and click on (AUTO CORRECT) for your time offset

Some problems with PM Attachements was causing this, so i removed PM attachements. This should now be fixed.

The Database is a mess !

I'm tempted to start the site from scratch.... That would mean everyone needs to re-register.

Feedback?

When I try to reply to a post with my usual witty repartee, the text field is two or more screens wide... I have to scroll miles over to see the POST button... not sure if anyone else is seeing this...

I see this with Firefox.  Internet Explorer is fine.  I'll see if Safari has the problem or not.

So it looks like it doesn't work on any of the browsers that handle HTML properly, and does work on the browser that doesn't. Bugger.

Safari on the iphone is also plagued by the long screen of annoying.
