saw the aftermath of the one accident on the news, by the looks of it, the bike t-boned the car. I hate to think it was the typical car not seeing the bike again scenario. Either way two more riders gone, sad, RIP to both and condolences to their families.

"They say that a northbound car driven by a 19-year-old woman crossed into the southbound lanes and struck the motorcycle."

Pure speculation of course, but sounds like distracted driving  :cussing:

I said to my wife that I hope she wasn't texting.

Probably... or perhaps still drunk from the night before.

Just another reminder to ride like no cager sees you and those that do are out to get you.

RIP to the rider.

"No criminal charges in Gatineau motorcyclist death" (June 8th)

From the CBC:
"concluded speed, alcohol and mobile phone use were not to blame"

According to the Sun:
"Police said a northbound car driven by a 19-year-old woman crossed into the southbound lanes and struck the motorcycle."

So, as long as you're not speeding, drunk, or texting it's OK to cross into the opposing lane and take out a rider?

Very sad.  But from what I see almost every day, the ability to drive in not a requirement to get a license in Ontario or Quebec,

Ride safe everyone.

Nope they are saying it wasn't criminal. She is most likely charged under Traffic laws..

Regarding this http://www.ott-motorcycles.ca/index.php?topic=55896.msg360711#msg360711.  Hopefully more details will come out as to the cause.  I ride that section of the 417 often and have NO IDEA how an accident can occur there unless there was inattention (rider or cager).  R.I.P to the rider and condolences to the family.

an "unknown rider" R6 went down on the Nicholas west on ramp.

Rider seems in good spirits, and is expected to make a full recovery.

Get well Jonny! :occasion14:
