There's several roads north of Kingston, Ontario that are a lot of fun.
Plenty of twists and turns, decent pavement and plenty of changes of elevation.

Battersea Road (County Road 11), Perth Road (County Road 10), and for the really adventurous there is Lake Opinicon Road.
Burnt Hills Road is good pavement also, just watch for cagers pulling boats...the road is fairly narrow with short visibility.

Any suggestions for riding in the Gatineau area?
I feel a case of kleptomania coming on...I should take something for it.

Discovered a new fav 2 days ago. Sadly I was driving, but I will be back on a bike guaranteed!

Mountain roads between Chamonix, France and Martigny, Switzerland. There were more bikes than cars, and every few miles rest stops and places to eat that are totally geared towards riders.....awesome!

I know; I've been over it a few times on two wheels.

That road took you over the Col de la Forclaz.

I hope the next time you go will be on two wheels and that you get a chance to ride as far east as Slovenia in the Alps. The downside is, you won't want to ride here once you get back.

Just about any road in Quebec. Even if it's straight, you still scrape the pegs every couple of minutes going around all the potholes. Plus there is the excitement of having the backend jumping around on all the frost heaves and patches . . . great workout for the kidneys.

507 going to Buckhorn

OPP depo on either end of 507 and its a well known bike road.

Much like 508 at Calabogie.

511 doesnt need OPP since it rewards speed with sand, gravel and marble trucks on most corners.

QC 347 Starts at Notre Dame de La Merci.
Follow it then 348, 349, 350,& 351 to Parc De La Maurice

At the end of the Parc turn around and ride it in reverse
total :headbang:

From Ottawa plan either a full 12hr day or find a cheap motel in Shawinigan and stay overnight and make a weekend of it.

I drove the Grand Saint Bernard Pass from Switzerland to Italy on my recent trip. It's only open about 12 weeks of the year. I want to go back and ride it.

Here's a two part video on YouTube (not mine)

Where did you all tour on that trip? I'm curious as to where you went and what routes you took. Do you have a web site or photo hosting site anywhere?

I took that pass back in 2001 and 2002; the last of those years to drive down to Nice via numerous passes along the way.

Flew into Lyon, France and picked up a car. Drove to Chamonix and stayed there for a few days. Drove from Chamonix up into Switzerland via Martigny. Stayed in the Lauterbrunnen Valley for 8 nights....did a lot of hiking and some climbing. Then drove back to Martigny via Bern and took the Grand Saint Bernard Pass to the Aosta Valley in Italy. Stayed in Pila (ski town above Aosta) for a few nights, then took the Mont Blanc tunnel back into France and back to Lyon. It was a great trip.

I have some pics on a BLOG which isn't quite finished yet...and will be posting a bunch of Facebook

Is the road through the park paved and in good condition?

Stayed in Pila (ski town above Aosta) for a few nights...

Great pics and it looks like you had great weather. Seeing those, I can't wait to get back.

I stayed in Cre which is on the north side of Aosta halfway to the pass.

There is another gorge called the Roflaschlucht near Sufers. That is just east of where the Splügen Pass exits in the town of the same name.

I hope you get over on two wheels. If you do, PM me for the roads the touring companies don't take you on.
