Let us know how that works if you get it, I would go for the $8 one as it appears to have a lot more features. Looks like it might work for you.
It actually does work for me. The sound isn't hugely amplified, but just enough to get through the earplugs and wind noise at speeds up to 100km/h. Still with a better FM radio I may get even better results...

thanks for the update Yan... I gather that with a helmet with more wind protection (i.e., chin guard etc), the sound could be better...

definitely! but you still have engine noise and the earplugs (if you wear earplugs that is, my recollection is that you do :)
